Teddy:

This is Teddy.
Teddy can’t walk but that doesn’t stop him from really
enjoying playing on this scooter board.
Teddy came to Gabriel House when he was three months old and is now
7 years old. Teddy’s parents were young and uneducated. They
did not understand that he had several severe deformities that were
life threatening. When he was finally discharged from the hospital
he began a rapid spiraling weight loss. His parents, realizing that
Teddy would not survive without intervention, brought him to Gabriel
House. It has been our joy to love and care for him ever since.
After 4 major surgeries and many emergency late night trips to the
hospital, Teddy has overcome the life threatening aspects of his
deformities. He is very intelligent and was transferred to our learning
center where he began attending school under the skilled teaching
of Martin Guevara one of our valued employees.
You should have seen Teddy’s parents when they visited last
time. Teddy proudly displayed his ability to read by reading them
a short storybook. He also displayed his ability to do simple addition
and subtraction. Teddy is the first member of his family to learn
how to read, write and do mathematics. His parents were amazed and
so very happy to see their son thriving.
What a testimony to the value of the learning center at Gabriel House!
