Alejandra:

We would like to introduce you
to Alejandra; we call her Ale. When Ale came to us as a four-year old she could not
walk. Shiners’ Hospital of Los Angeles preformed a surgery
that corrected her condition known as spinal bifida. This surgery
gave her the ability to walk and live a normal life.
Today Ale is a typical teenager in every way and loves the Lord. She
attends a regular school where she is an excellent student and is
loved and respected by her friends and family.
This month she turned fifteen years old. In the life of a Mexican girl the fifteenth birthday is a very special time. It is her passage from childhood to being a young woman. Traditionally the "Quencinera" is treated like a queen for a day. She is dressed in a formal gown and a crown is placed on her head. She wears flat shoes to her party that are replaced with high heels by her father symbolizing her passage into young womanhood then she is passed over to the arm of a young man who is her escort for the rest of the party.
Ale is pictured here with her special birthday cake but she broke the tradition and gave her testimony that explains why. Please join us as we celebrate what the Lord has done and is still doing in the life of one of our kids, Ale.
Welcome to my friends and family.I am joined here by my natural Mother, Margarita, and my adoptive parents Ted and Irene Faver, and my brothers and sisters. God chose to bless me, so all of my life I have had two families living in harmony, sharing me.
As you may notice, I have no young man attending me, as my Chamberlane. That is because I have broken from tradition and decided that my time for young men in my life has not yet come.
Instead, Christ is my Chamberlane today, and always. It is on His arm I will lean and on the leading of His Holy Spirit when I will meet and marry the man of my dreams someday. Until then I chose to wait on Him, and trust the protection and love of the earthly Father He has given me.
The “toast” today will be offered by my Pastor Samuel, and is a celebration of Christ in my life. You will be served a glass of cider and a piece of bread. This to me and every believer in Christ represents the body and blood of Christ poured out for the sin of all men. Please share it with me in great joy.
Thank you so much for being here to celebrate with me. I love you all very much.
Ale
