Alex:
Now here is a boy just being a boy! Alex lives at our San Vicente home where he is learning and doing all the things that a 13 year old boy should be learning. Alex is bright, imaginative and loves to work with his hands doing mechanical things when he isn’t on the computer. Angel Beeza, the Supervisor of Gabriel House San Vicente, is working with the boys to teach them how to work with their hands and build things. This hand-crank bike is one example of the mechanical skills the boys are learning. The San Vicente home was designed for children just like Alex where they can grow and learn to become all their abilities will allow.
Alex came to Gabriel House 6 years ago with his two brothers, Joes and Antonio. When he first came he was not able to walk or talk due to Cerebral Palsy believed to be contracted inter-utero as a result of his mother’s drug use. Even though Alex can’t talk he can describe in sign language the abuse he suffered before he came to Gabriel House. His is an example of life rescued from certain despair.
Another thing about Alex is that he has a tender heart toward animals. At first he was afraid to be around or touch a pet; he had never been exposed to them. Now he enjoys helping his brothers tend the two parakeets gifted to them by Kim.
Please pray that Alex will truly give his heart to Jesus and be able to discern God’s plan for his life.
