Gabriel House II and Angel Baeza Silva

Ted and I  finally met Angel Baeza Silva, a truly amazing Brother in the Lord.

Angel is a paraplegic man who has not only overcome the adversity of his handicap but he has a heart to help others who are disabled and teach them how to help themselves.  His courage and fortitude are inspiring.

He has a passion to help the handicapped help themselves; that is why we are so excited to have him as part of the Gabriel House team.

Because he crawled in the dirt as a child, unable to walk and suffered the humiliation of abandonment and prejudice that accompanies the life of the handicapped in Mexico he has tremendous compassion and drive.

Angel
Angel is an extremely gifted inventor, welder, jewelry make, stain glass artist, wood carver, carpenter, upholsterer and an athlete.  He is an inspiration to everyone when he participates in the annual bike-run from Rosarito Beach to Ensenada on a hand-crank bike he designed and built.
Angel and his family will be supervising our Gabriel House in San Vicente (Gabriel House II) where they will teach several of our boys’ daily living and occupational skills that will give them the opportunity to live and work in society with dignity and purpose.  His example of a capable and Godly man living with a handicap, loving the Lord and serving Him is what we want for all our kids.

Jesus says in John 10:10   "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The thief may have stolen perfect bodies from our children but the Lord is giving them a life through Angel’s teaching them how to be capable and serve others in spite of their handicap.

Our goal for all our children is to give them the best possible life we can that is why we are excited and blessed to have Angel and his family as part of our Gabriel House staff.
